The last time I used Facebook regularly was over three years ago. I logged in and discovered a very serious problem: somebody was wrong on the Internet! This outrage had to be corrected right away. I wasn’t sure if the offending Facebook user was evil or just stupid, but I knew it was my responsibility to correct their ignorance. After all, if I didn’t do it, then who would?
This may seem like a laughable impulse, but it’s one that we all have given into at one point or another. And when you examine that impulse more closely, you may realize something scary: that impulse actually isn’t laughable at all. In modern society, the opinions of large groups of total strangers are a very significant factor in how successful or unsuccessful you will be in life. Ignoring their opinions entirely is roughly equivalent to ignoring traffic as you casually hike down the center lane of I-90: technically possible, but very bad for your long-term health. This is not to say that you should place a lot of value on their opinions - after all, most of these people are half-wits who couldn’t string together a logically coherent opinion to save their own lives - but the fact is that the opinions of the social media lynch mob can significantly impact your well-being, which is why it’s important to make sure that the mob holds correct opinions, instead of the ignorant catchphrases and hyper-emotional hot-takes that they are fed by the media.
This is something that our oligarch masters are well aware of, which is why they invest so much time and effort on building a media propaganda machine. There’s nothing inherently bad about this: after all, a willingness to all subscribe to the same narrative is the only real distinction between a large group of people and a society. The trouble happens when the narrative that the oligarchs want to push is factually inaccurate or actively harmful to society’s well being. Because the oligarchs are too arrogant to consider that they might be wrong, it’s usually impossible to convince them that they are pushing the wrong narrative. Attempting to do so will only get them to attack you instead. That’s why when this particular problem occurs, it can usually only get resolved by populism and demagoguery. The oligarchs don’t care about right or wrong: they only pretend to. In reality, they only speak the language of power. That’s why we as a society need to start speaking it back to them, especially when their ignorance and arrogance results in an epidemic that was totally preventable turning into a pandemic that kills millions. These people have blood on their hands and they will do anything to protect their power. Calling them out as the incompetent leaders that they are threatens their control over society, so they will do anything to silence or discredit the people who point out their flaws.
Let’s talk about some of these flaws. For instance, have you noticed that standards of living are starting to slip lately? The unemployment rate is high. The gap between the wealthy and the poor continues to grow. Our military, once the envy of the world, now seems incapable of winning wars against countries that are over half a century less technologically advanced than ourselves, while simultaneously holding struggle sessions about divisive politicized nonsense. Our geopolitical enemies (whom we have outsourced most of our manufacturing jobs to - including key strategic industries) dictate to our film industries what topics they are or are not allowed to discuss, and literally send spies into our lands to kidnap Americans right under our noses. Meanwhile, the only politician we have had in decades who was not too corrupt and weak to fight back against our main geopolitical rival seems like he may actively harbor ambitions of subverting the democratic process. Based on all the evidence, does this seem like a country where our elites know what they are doing, or does it seem more like a country in need of some drastic changes? I’ve studied history, and to me, this bears a very strong resemblance to the Fall of the Roman Empire. The only real question any sane person should be asking themselves is this: are we going to allow the United States to follow the same track that the Roman Empire took and collapse into a thousand years of darkness and anarchy? Or are we going to seize control from our corrupt elites and fight back against this societal entropy?
Obviously, that’s a question that the elites don’t want you asking, which is why they’ve come up with a very clever tactic to use against anybody who questions their legitimacy. I call it “Support Our Leadership, Otherwise You’re A Bigot And A Monster.”
The way it works is this:
1) Manufacture a divisive controversy. This usually involves a minority dying in some highly visible way. Blame the death on the controversial issue that you are using to manufacture conflict. “It may have looked like Derek Chauvin murdered George Floyd, but actually he didn’t. The real culprit was structural racism!”
2) Force people to take a stand on it. “Silence is violence!”
3) Encourage them to fight each other. “You’re either on the side of justice, or on the side of oppression!”
4) Label anybody who refuses to engage with the manufactured and heavily politicized issue as a bigot. “You believe that wealth inequality is a more pressing concern than structural racism? Sounds like something a racist would say!”
In this manner, they manipulate the plebs into fighting each other while the oligarchs continue to rob them, looting the public treasury while the empire falls. I’m quite familiar with these divisive tactics; in fact I used them myself during the 2016 election (albeit in service to a higher cause).
If that doesn’t work, the next step is framing their political opponents of a crime, like what happened to Julian Assange or Edward Snowden. I hate to sound like a conspiracy theorist, but isn’t it really weird that Julian Assange would suddenly commit a sex crime out of the blue right when the CIA most wanted to have grounds to extradite him? I mean, up till that point, he had zero record of being a sex offender or violent in any way, and there were already tons of hippy women eager to jump into bed with him because of his reputation as a heroic rebel who spoke truth to power. And then all of a sudden Julian commits a crime totally uncharacteristic of his nature, which just happens to allow the CIA to reach out its long arms and grab him from another country, at the precise moment that it really wants to do so. As you may have guessed from some of my other writings, I analyze probability quite a lot, and I can tell you that this is a crazy coincidence. The likelihood of those two things aligning randomly is ridiculously small. If I were the CIA director and something like that happened to me, I would have to Tweet #blessed because if God kept coming up with all these unlikely coincidences to get me what I want, clearly I must be on the big guy’s good side.
It may feel scary to think about these things, but this is just the reality of how our society operates behind the propaganda curtain. This is exactly what Donald Trump was talking about when he made his popular promise to “drain the swamp” and “eliminate the deep state.” (Whether Donald Trump was the most qualified politician to make that promise is an entirely separate issue.) It is a very popular saying among the intelligence community that nobody wants to know how the sausage is made, and for good reason. The “sausage” of our “saus-ciety” (did you see what I did there?) is basically a bunch of power-hungry oligarchs looting the taxpayers in every way possible with the assistance of complicit politicians, while simultaneously starting a race war to redirect attention away from their predatory behavior. Anybody who notices these trends and tries to bring it to public attention is initially labelled a crackpot and conspiracy theorist. If public mockery is not enough to discredit them, they are eventually framed of a crime or just plain assassinated by our shadow government.
So what can you do to help?
First of all, stop playing into the oligarchs hands by buying into their media narrative unquestioningly. When you see a rebel who speaks truth to power (like Julian Assange or Edward Snowden) being accused of a crime shortly after they have put a really sharp thorn in the asses of the people who run society, take a moment to reflect upon the very likely probability of the accusations being untrue. In fact, perhaps this moment of reflection is something we should do more in general. I’m pretty confident that the three-letter agencies aren’t the only organizations which like to leverage false accusations against their opponents.
Second of all, join an organization that works to stop this nonsense. Organizations like FAIR (the Foundation Against Intolerance and Racism) work to address social problems while also eliminating the divisive race-baiting rhetoric which the oligarchs push. Meanwhile, organizations like Anonymous or Wikileaks work to ensure more transparency throughout society, exposing the oligarchs and the people who serve them whenever they take actions that are illegal.
Third of all, when you see a celebrity buying into this divisive race-baiting narrative in order to increase their media profile, stop giving positive feedback to them. You can influence what celebrities do by the incentives that you give them. If you want celebrities to stop supporting what’s popular (ie, the narrative that the oligarchs in power are pushing) and start supporting what’s right, you have to be willing to reward and/or punish them appropriately.
Ultimately, stopping the civil war that the people in charge of our society are trying to bring about through their indoctrination and social media brainwashing is a task that is too big for any one of us to accomplish as individuals. However, when we act together in a unified and coordinated way, we have a strength that goes beyond the sum of our parts. We can in fact change the entire world if we choose to.
