I’d like to start this substack post with an apology to my paid subscribers. I promised one post for you every other month, and I’m behind due to a bad case of sciatica, which made it very difficult to work. I’m almost fully recovered now but I still have some catching up to do. So I promise to write an extra subscription post soon for you in order to make up for it. In the meanwhile, since this is my first time suffering from sciatica - the classic old person illness - I’d like to talk about another destructive ailment that old people sometimes suffer from: namely, pretending to be “cool” by talking like the younger generation. This seldom works and usually backfires on the elders. Here’s why.
